This cross you carried

You were beaten and killed on this cross you carried
people whos saw you were quite too marry.
They nailed you by your hands and feet
the cuts they gave you were far too deep.
why did you pay for our debt we owed
for we were harsh and to you we loathed.
"Do not punish them for they do not know what they have done"
for all we know the beginning had just begun.
You were beaten and killed on this cross you carried
they wrapped you up and from there you were buried.
You were placed in a solid stone grave
and from that day on is where you would stay.
But you didn't stay long for three days you arose
word had gotten around about you so the story still goes.
You were sent back to heaven and were crowned and enthroned
when the world shall end your wrath will be shown.
For you were beaten and killed on this cross you carried
you laid your life down for us so we could live and be marry.
